Over the Thanksgiving weekend I saw a sweet movie called "Outsourced", has anyone else seen it? I saw a few reviews that were positive so I rented it, and was struck by how the film gently examines cross-cultural (US/Indian) communications, and how the different cultures shape the film's characters attitudes towards work, love and family. It reminded me a little of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" meets "Bend it Like Beckham"... only I felt the story was deeper and richer than both of these. There's a whole section on the website where the filmmakers talk about how difficult it was to promote this independent film because it was really successful (just look for a negative review - I couldn't find one) and showed to sold out theaters, yet it had a limited run and that's just the way it is with indie films.
